An advocate should enjoy reading political science, sociology, anthropology, Economics, world history and other subjects which will prepare him to see at any issue or problem from different perspectives. That is why an advocate is called the learned persons and he is always open to consider different opinions and explanations based on logic and reason. What an advocate does in his profession is called legal practice which requires regular updating of legal knowledge. One should be in the habit of reading new judgments, changes in Acts and amendments in various provisions of law. This is the minimum requirement to do justice with law profession. Many acts are deleted , many new acts are formed by parliament and state assemblies. New Motor Vehicles Act, Land Acquisition Act and Consumer Protection Act has come into existence. Even though the advocate has no case to deal with under these acts , he must know the latest edition of all these acts and their provisions. Updating of legal knowledge keeps us informed and smart.
